2. Church Consultant on Sexuality with Equip

Pieter is the Founder and Director of Equip, the leading coaching & training solution for churches aspiring to be places where gay people thrive according to God's wisdom.

In addition to equipping Christian leaders to better care for gay people according to a traditional sexual ethic and teach everyone about God's love and wisdom for gay people, Equip takes it a step further.

Equip helps churches prevent the wounds of the closet, raise the bar for everyone's sexual stewardship, and ensure that vocational singles find lifelong family, not loneliness. Equip helps everyone in your church thrive according to God's good and weighty wisdom.

Equip does this through long-term partnerships that lead to long-lasting results, beginning with Equip’s signature Blueprint Process to identify a vision and strategy customized for your church.

3. Teacher/Aspiring Anglican Deacon

Pieter is a teacher and aspiring deacon in the Anglican Church in North America about celibacy and sexuality. He's taught at Provincial Youth Gathering, at the Diocesan Gathering for Diocese of Pittsburgh, for the Diocese of the Churches for the Sake of Others, at Trinity Anglican Atlanta, at Church of the Ascension Pittsburgh, and at Church of the Redeemer Nashville.

4. Monastery-Builder

Pieter is a founding brother of the Nashville Family of Brothers, an ecumenically Christian monastery building family in Nashville for men called to kingdom singleness.

Brothers live together, practice daily prayer and confession, share meals, and spend holidays and vacations together. They are committed to the mission and teaching of their local churches, seek employment outside of the house that leverages their 9-to-5 jobs for the sake of the kingdom, and continue to enjoy fellowship with biological family and friends outside of the monastery.

The Nashville Family of Brothers are governed by a Community Covenant, overseen by a Pastoral Advisory Board of Nashville pastors, and eventually make lifetime commitments to vocational singleness and the monastery.

5. Licensed Counselor

Pieter is a Licensed Professional Counselor in TN meeting with clients in private practice navigating the intersection of faith and sexuality. Private practice sessions are conducted virtually.

He does not provide reparative therapy or sexual orientation change therapy. Sexual orientation changes efforts have been proven to be harmful and ineffective.

6. (but not least) Christ-Follower

Pieter graduated with Highest Honors in Chemistry from Vanderbilt University, studied at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and earned a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lipscomb University.

He loves his godson, his dog, running, strategic board games, and playing the bassoon.

Checkout his testimony of placing his faith in Jesus, submitting his same-sex attractions to the Lordship of Christ, and collaborating with God to redeem his brokenness for God's glory and the good of himself and others!
